Commercial insurance
Employer plans and plans you buy yourself. Whether a GLP-1 is covered, and for how much, depends on your plan.
Start with your plan
- Costs and benefits vary greatly between plans and insurers; check your coverage with your insurer.[1]
Novo Nordisk savings offer (Wegovy, Ozempic)
- If you have commercial (non-government) insurance, your copay could be as little as $25 a month, with a maximum savings of $100 a month.[5][2]
- NovoCare lists it as "for up to 3 months", for both Wegovy and Ozempic.[3][4]
- People with both commercial and government-funded plans count as having government insurance. NovoCare's footnote for the $25 offer says government beneficiaries are excluded.[6][2]
- NovoCare says the Wegovy savings offer is for people using commercial insurance, or paying for themselves (not through insurance), with a valid prescription.[8]
- You need a valid prescription and must agree to the full terms.[7]
- Example of the math: with a $300 copay, $100 off leaves $200; with a $110 copay, the floor of $25 applies. The monthly cost tool does this for you.
Eli Lilly savings cards (Zepbound, Mounjaro, Foundayo)
Not recorded yet. Eli Lilly's terms do not allow us to store copies of its pages, so we record its offers by hand each week; that has not started. Until then this site shows only Eli Lilly's self-pay prices.
Paying self-pay instead
If your plan does not cover the drug, self-pay prices are listed on each drug page. Novo Nordisk's terms on how self-pay spending is treated, word for word:
“Patients who use this savings offer and are enrolled in government, state, or federally-funded medical or prescription benefit programs are able to pay the self-pay price for their prescription. This offer operates outside of any third-party insurance. The money spent and discounts on your prescription will not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket requirements and cannot be submitted for reimbursement to your insurer.”
Not covered here yet: individual insurers' GLP-1 policies. We will add an insurer only from its own published policy document.
